I really hope another manufacturer steps in - likely not for 2017 but 2018 given the big rules change. BMW would be nice, Mercedes would be great to see (although running F1 at the same time would cost epic amounts of money), although a more unexpected manufacturer would be fun, like a Hyundai or Honda. We’ve seen many European manufacturer fights, maybe it’s time for the Asian manufacturers to duke it out.
I’d love to see McLaren or Ferrari back at it, too, but like Mercedes, the costs of parallel F1/LMP1 programs must be astronomical.
